Welding engineering, without the guesswork

HeatInput is being developed into a professional platform for welding calculations, engineering documentation and inspection workflows.

Most welding calculators online return a single number with no context. Engineers and inspectors need more than that: they need the formula that was used, the variables that went into it, the rounding, the unit conversion and a defensible interpretation of the result.

HeatInput takes the opposite approach. Every calculation is transparent and traceable, so the output can be used to support welding procedure specifications, qualification records and inspection reports.

Where this is going

The current release covers three core welding calculations: Heat Input, Arc Energy and Travel Speed. Planned additions include Preheat, PWHT, hydrogen, cooling time, carbon equivalent, ferrite number, hardness conversion and weld volume modules, alongside project management, WPS management, welder qualification tracking and inspection reporting.
