Calculations and calculator data

All calculations in the current release run entirely in your browser.

HeatInput does not transmit calculation inputs, calculation results, saved Measurement Runs, timer data or unsaved calculator drafts to a HeatInput server, database or cloud service.

Browser storage

HeatInput uses browser storage to provide requested application functions such as saved Measurement Runs, session restore and user preferences.

Saved Measurement Runs and certain preferences are stored locally on your device and may remain available after you close and reopen your browser. They remain stored until you delete them through HeatInput, reset the relevant data where applicable, or clear your browser data.

Active timer data and unsaved calculator drafts are stored temporarily to support session restore. This temporary session data is cleared when the relevant session is reset or when the browser session ends.

Data stored locally in your browser remains on your device and is not accessible to HeatInput.

Accounts and cloud storage

The current release does not offer user accounts or HeatInput cloud storage.

If accounts, cloud-saved calculations, project storage or other server-based services are introduced, this privacy notice will be updated to explain what information is processed, why it is processed and how long it is retained.

Analytics and tracking

HeatInput does not currently use analytics, advertising trackers or third-party tracking scripts in the published application.

Browser storage used by HeatInput is used for application functionality and preferences, not for advertising or behavioural profiling.

Feature interest poll

The homepage feature-interest poll records the option you select so we can understand which HeatInput features visitors find most useful. The poll record contains only the selected option and the time of submission and is not linked to your HeatInput account in the poll table.

After a successful response, HeatInput stores a small marker in your browser so the poll is not repeatedly shown on the same browser.

Contact by email

If you contact HeatInput by email, HeatInput processes the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, name, message and any attachments, in order to respond to your enquiry and handle relevant follow-up.

For general enquiries, this processing is based on HeatInput's legitimate interest in communicating with users, customers and other interested parties.

Where your enquiry relates to entering into a contract or service agreement, the information may also be processed where necessary to take steps at your request before entering into that contract.

Email messages may also be processed by the email service providers used to send and receive the correspondence.

Retention

Calculation data stored only in your browser is retained according to the browser-storage behaviour described above and remains under your control.

Email correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the enquiry and any relevant follow-up, or for longer where this is necessary to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your rights

For personal data that HeatInput processes, such as email correspondence, you may have rights under applicable data-protection law including the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and receive your data in a portable format where applicable.

Requests can be sent to info@heatinput.com.

HeatInput cannot access, correct or delete calculator data that is stored only locally in your browser. You can manage that data through the available HeatInput delete/reset functions or through your browser settings.

Complaints

You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands or, where applicable, another competent data-protection supervisory authority.

Automated decision-making

HeatInput does not use personal data for profiling or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may be updated when HeatInput introduces new functionality or changes the way information is processed.
